LEPROSY MISSION

Leprosy is a scourge, it makes the sufferer a reject in society. They are the untouchables in India. This treatment meted out to them makes them very sad. But praise be to God, our group of people are a happy lot. We strive to bring happiness to them by showing them love. Among them, there are prayer warriors who pray for our ministry. 

Manifestations of leprosy bring immeasurable suffering. The ulcers are irreversible and cause deformities to the limps and skin. This creates social taboos. They are forced out from among their families and homes to live on the streets. They are in desperate need of medical attention, a regular change in dressing their wounds. Since no one hires them to work, they earn nothing and resort to begging. 

We try to help them by having a monthly medical camp and provide them with rice and other provisions so that they might have a decent meal.         

 WIDOWS

In India, being a widow is a bad omen. This perception still lives among people especially in the far-flung villages. Once a woman loses her husband, she is first ostracised by society. She becomes an outcast. She is banned from public gathering and social functions. Secondly, she is also not allowed to remarry. Thirdly, people passing her by on the road tend to look the other way for fear of attracting bad luck. 

In other cases, if a widow is employed somewhere, usually as a house maid, and the employer has a bad day, the widow is blamed for it. Even worse, a widow's own married children will not entertain her properly in their homes for fear of the bad luck of death. This stigma is real. 

The life of a widow in India is truly sad. Her hardships are lifelong. Her struggle are relentless. At CFTF Mission we try to provide some comfort to such women. We show them that the love of God transcends all taboos. We uplift them through the Word of God and material assistance - food, shelter, clothing and emotional support.
